The Essential Checklist: Preparing Your Team for Corporate Headshots
A successful headshot session is a collaboration. While our team manages the lighting, technical composition, and posing, your team’s preparation is the foundation of a high-impact final result. To ensure a seamless experience and a polished, professional outcome, we recommend sharing these standards with your staff 48 hours before the session.
1. Wardrobe and Grooming Standards Color Palette: Opt for rich, mid-tone solids like navy, charcoal, or deep greens. These shades provide excellent contrast and focus the viewer’s attention on your face. Avoid busy patterns, pinstripes, or neon colors, as they can cause visual noise on digital displays. The Importance of Fit: Precision is key. Ensure suits, jackets, and shirts are properly tailored. Loose or oversized clothing tends to look bulky and unrefined under professional studio lighting. Grooming and Prep: While our post-production process handles minor blemishes, the raw capture is the foundation of a great portrait. We recommend fresh haircuts be done 3 to 5 days prior to the session and ensuring all wardrobe items are professionally pressed.
2. Logistics and Workflow The Value of Buffer Time: To maintain a relaxed environment, we recommend a 5-minute buffer between individual slots. This allows team members a final mirror check and prevents the rushed expression that often translates to the camera. Lead from the Top: We suggest having a senior executive take the first slot. This establishes the professional tone for the day and significantly reduces anxiety for the rest of the staff.
3. The Mental Approach Authenticity Over Perfection: Our goal isn't a staged model pose. We are looking for a confident, approachable version of your professional self that builds immediate trust with your clients.
Expert Coaching: Most people are uncomfortable in front of a camera. That is why we provide active coaching throughout the session, directing every tilt of the chin and placement of the hands to ensure the most flattering results.
By following these standards, you ensure that your company’s visual identity remains polished, professional, and consistent across every digital platform.
